What happened to the CD?
In short, I removed it. It is no longer available. Why? Well, essentially because nobody bought it and it wasn't very good commercially. It is still out there on various sites as I cannot seem to remove all traces of it as a whole. Some songs came out really well and I have kept those to be available as individual downloads. The others...eh, not so much. Remember that those tracks were recorded in my living room. The entire CD was recorded in one take. There were no other musicians except the guitarist and I...what we really needed was a drummer as the tempo lagged on some of the later tracks. Oh, well...live and learn and keep on going! New stuff is being uploaded on the web even now on SOUNDCLOUD. The first release is called "Bumblebee". I am really proud of that song. As soon as I figure out how to convert that song into the proper format, I will make it available on the Reverbnation website. Ahhh ---- more technical stuff! Sometimes being an indie musician is terribly difficult as there are just so many things I have to learn how to do just to get my music out...still, it is better than being beholden to some mass media machine that seeks to "popify" and electronically synthesize everything nowadays.
UPDATE: Thanks to my friend, I was able to convert the music file successfully. Thanks, Chad!
The song "Out of the Valley" was the very first instrumental piece that I ever wrote on the guitar. I named it that because of the Bible's 23rd Psalm's reference to walking "through the valley of the shadow of death" which was something I felt I knew a great deal about. This song is available as a download off the reverbnation website, if you are at all interested. It was the first of many songs I created without my former musical partner whose departure rendered me musically mute for three years as I did not know how to play an instrument at that time and get all that music out of my head and into the world...so I had to teach myself to play the guitar at the age of 35. What other choice did I have? But I am back now with a vengeance! Watch out, world...here I come!
You never know what you'll find...
I came upon this older recording of my music from the time when I was playing with Paul Nelson and Curtis Edwards in a band we called Lesson's End. Paul played violin. Curtis the guitar and I sang and wrote the lyrics. The recording is not great but who cares...I can still enjoy this other version. This recording also had the Let's Play song as it was originally with the lyrics.
The two songs uploaded on the music site are alternate versions of both Santa Fe and Let's Play. You can hear the songs free by clicking here...
